I took the photo above on April 13, 2011. I was visiting an old friend and the sky was so seductive that I just had to shoot this one before we could lunch at Riva Fish House. I'ma sucker for big billowy clouds.

The main attraction to lots of people from the San Francisco Bay Area. The Santa Cruz Boardwalk has been in operation since 1907 and attracts over 3,000,000 visitors each year.
Stolen from the web.

It is the most likely reason that people remember Santa Cruz even though the city has many more features that are more interesting and enjoyable. Free admission, high prices for food, souvenirs, and rides bring in a lot of revenue to the city coffers. Strangely enough, the parking facilities is the most profitable of all the concessions. Come to Santa Cruz and ride the Big Dipper. We could sure use some of your money.
