Backpacking into the Eastern Sierra's of California. Camped at Waugh Lake and woke up to a beautiful full moon at sunrise. At that altitude it was very cold when I woke up and begrudgingly(is that a word?) climbed out of the tent and found my way down to the lake to purify water for coffee. My wife has to have a cup of coffee in the morning. The air was clean and fresh with that forest smell. It was a glorious place to be. That day we hiked up to Thousand Island Lake at over 10,000 ft. It is beautiful country with breathtaking views of lakes and streams. Check it out.
