During July 1998 I rafted about 224 miles of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. The average temperature in the bottom of the canyon was 108 degrees! By the time I arrived at Phantom Ranch it was 114 degrees. Along the river there were slot canyons that had waterfalls that were very refreshing. Cool clear water felt a lot better than the freezing muddy water of the Colorado.

I have always wanted to play in a natural waterfall like that! How cool!
