On August 28, 2005, I was asked to photograph an event at Nestldown.While photographing some of the participants someone called to me to come see a Great Blue Heron that had just flown in and was standing next to a large pond. I was asked to take some photos and these two are among my favorites. The bird was very cooperative. It let me get within 10 feet of it. It is a beautiful bird especially when it moves. Long legs that seem to glide across the ground. I have wanted to photograph birds for some time now. Maybe this is the beginning of a new direction. Oh! Be sure to click the link to Nestldown.
