A waterwheel grain mill has retired. There are several mills in this area near Las Vegas, New Mexico. In the 1930's and 40's this area was a vibrant grain growing area and supplied most of the wheat and oats to the Southwest. Now the mills have been repurposed although some still operate on a limited basis and at least one has been turned into a museum. What a lovely day it was.
