This a an african-american man that is homeless. He suffers from mental illness. He has been pushing/pulling these carts up and down hills, along busy streets, and across bridges throughout Santa Cruz for several years. His appearance hasn't changed in all that time. He wears the same clothing year-round. Every time I see him I am reminded that possessions possess us not the other way around. He demonstrates very clearly the baggage and effort we go to to carry it with us. Whew!
