CROWS NEST BEACH • SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA

It was a great day for the beach. High today was 78 and the low around 50 with night and morning fog...blah blah blah. It's always the same. Great weather day after day. Most everyone I know really appreciates our climate and keeps reminding each other about how fortunate we are to be able to live here. Especially retired. So today was another great day for the beach. Not too crowded now but next week for the Independence Day celebrations it will be a war zone. Thousands of people trying to come to the beaches with illegal fireworks and hundreds of law enforcement officers trying to keep the beach safe. Locals, for the most part, stay off the beaches and leave it to the tourists. We only hope that the "out-of-towners" leave some cash to help pay for the beach clean up and the overtime for law enforcement. Come visit, be safe and sane...well maybe not sane...but leave some cash and don't break anything except may an ordinance or two.
