GOAT POWER

This is Pogonip Greenbelt Open Space in Santa Cruz, CA. It is a 660 acre area adjacent to the city and is most magnificent place to hike/walk. Because there a so many visitors there is a constant threat of fire. Every year the meadows were mowed with a flail mower. It was expensive and not enviornmentally friendly. So the City Parks Department hired a couple of goat shepards and there goats to deal with the grass areas. It was quite a sight.
