DRIEST PLACE ON EARTH

This is a shrine in a little village on the edge of the Atacama Desert in the Andes of northern Chile. The entire town works in mines nearby. When I arrived there was only one old woman visible. The reason that it is the driest place on earth is that it hasn't rained here in over 100 years. It is spectacular country.
