I waited for a couple of hours at this beach. I was told the best sunsets occur here. I didn't expect to appreciate dusk at the beach. Something moving caught my attention and I turned to see a beautiful Great Blue Heron that just flew in and landed not far from me. It casually walked into the water and poked around for food. I began to approach the bird in hopes of getting a good shot before it flew away. Well it not only did not fly away it actually seemed to enjoy posing. I was able to get within 15 feet. The silhouette created by the light was just right. I like this shot.

SUNSET BEACH - SOUTHERN OREGON
